Pidurangala Rock (Sigiriya)
Piduruthalagala Rock
Piduruthalagala is about 100 Km away from Colombo International Air Port (a 3h ride)
With a height of 2,524 metres, Pidurutalagala, also known as Mount Pedro in English, is Sri Lanka's tallest mountain. The majority of the Central Province can see Mount Pedro, which is near the city of Nuwara Eliya. Only one man-made trail led to the top, and the remainder of the jungle was left intact, except for ancient elephant-traveled paths. Due to the strong winds that were present as we got closer to the mountaintop, the trees on the mountainsides appeared to be slender, and the tree tops at the pinnacle all appeared to have been carefully pruned. A road accessible to vehicles leads to the mountain's summit, although it requires permission from the Sri Lankan Army checkpoint at the mountain's entrance. Keep an eye out for any passing wild leopards during the tour.
